Clear, cold greenhead shoot!
« on: November 15, 2014, 04:19:06 PM »
Had a quick shoot with the guys this morning.  It definately was a cold one, lots of birds, feet down and sunshine.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

Awesome! Jealous, wish my spots were producing green head limits.

Did you have to break ice or was the water already open?

We had to break ice.  Fortunately it was only 1/2" thick.
Cut em!

Glad to hear that worked for you, I have always been told breaking the ice does not usually work, so I have never tried it.

If you have birds in the area they will go for the open water.  You create an open hole you can have some of the best hunting ever.  If it is shallow enough for the birds.  If it's deep water and ice, I try to avoid it.

Nice work!

Breaking ice for me has usually paid off, if there are birds around.

Hellz yeah!

Jimbo: "That's right, Stanley. Animals are much easier to shoot in the morning."
