River bottom Bucks (trail Cam pics)
« on: November 18, 2014, 07:49:24 PM »
The unit I usually hunt is closed for the year, so I'm hunting a different spot for late archery. Looks like they are/were cruising for chicks, and doing a little fighting. The little 2 point must of got beat up, and lost an antler.

Looks like a good spot. Few different bucks is always good.  The last pic looks like a decent 3 point.  He will be a good one next year if you arent able to let the air out of him this year. Good Luck

I made it across the river today barely......Probably would have been wise to wait another day, but once I was half way across there was no turning back :chuckle:  Once across I checked my camera to see if any of the above bucks were still moving around.  Only one on the cam 5 days ago.  :bash: When I came up to the camera there was a deer carcass about 10ft from it, out of view of the cam. The meat was still pretty bright red, so pretty fresh. I checked the cam hoping I would have a pic of whatever had been feeding on it. Here's what I found.....

Looks like her passenger rear leg had been messed up for some time and walking on bare bone. Yote took advantage.

Nice...funny how you mention a river ...I was hunting along the river the other day and when I walked down a grade the water was flowing like a creek and about 2 inches deep . When we decided to come back it was flowing like a river and now over a foot deep ..Ended up over our boots and the hunt was over ..Guy needs to be careful when the rivers are high ...

I drug the body in front of my camera by the hind legs. Both hooves were still there.  There does look like there's something wrong with that leg though.

Odd. The first picture sure does make that far side rear lower leg look messed up.
Good pictures for sure!
