Bullpacs Review! A+

I bought the big bullpac at the sportsman show and can't wait to strap an animal on it, Guess I need to go find Yogi and strap him on. I saw three in Sequia Natinal Park last week.

Just giving this a bump for a site sponsor.  Used this for the fifth time this year.  First was by buddies dad's elk, then my buddies elk, then my daughters whitetail, then my wife's elk and now my daughters elk.

This load was 103 pounds, pack gear and meat(deboned hind quarter, bone in front shoulder and head).  The thick padded shoulder straps and waist belt really give you a good cushion with a heavy load.  Once all the straps are tight this thing becomes part of your body and moves only when you do.

I would love to field test one that allows the bench to fold flat against the main frame so I can pack on my mule panniers easier.

My original one has never let me down ................................... ever.

2MANY - part of the beauty of the Bull Pac is the that it doesn't have the folding shelf, which eliminates weak/squeaky points.  We're working on some new stuff, we'll see what we come up with in the future.

Someone asked about other personal experiences.   Here some thoughts of my experiences...  But this is just my opinion. 

I like my bull pac and once I purchased one I never went back to anything else.  It is solid, I can bang it on things and it does not hurt it.  It has tie downs for the loose meat bags.  The shoulder pads are thick and do not bother me at all.  The pads do not cut off circulation under heavy loads like 100 or more lbs. I do not hunt with this pack.  It is strictly a meat packing frame.  I have packed out a lot of elk on this pack.

I have owned and used the freighter frame type of packs and they worked.  The shelf was OK and if you had the right harness the weight would ride on your hips. It flexed a lot under heavy loads.  It squeaked so much under load it drove me crazy.  It was my first and I wore it out.  I was happy to try something new.

I own the Eberlestock J34 Just One pack.  It is heavy to pack for an all day hunt, I think it is 7.5 lbs when empty. It has a rifle scabbier which is nice when you need two hands free.  The pack has 2300 cubic inches when it is totally collapsed and can be used as a day pack.  It expands to something like 4500 cubic inches.   You can get it to expand to a 8100 cubic inch load.  8100 cubic inch full of meat I could not pack very far.  But I could carry 100 lb of meat in that pack.  It flexed like crazy. The tie downs are fantastic for this pack.  It is very solid to hold just loose meat.  The hip and arm straps were very comfortable for me.

Just like the hunt said it becomes part of the person when strapped on with a load, made packing out lokidogs ram easy!
