Buckskin Tannery ?
« on: October 27, 2015, 03:23:16 PM »
I'm looking for a tannery I can send my deer hides to for hair-off tanning.  I want MY deer hides back.  I used to go to Quilceda;  lately I've been going to Chehalis, but I hear from people that you can't get YOUR hides back because they all go to the same tannery in Wisconsin or something and they get batch tanned.  Is there really no place that can get YOUR hides back to you.

I quite doing hair off tanning years ago because of this reason and couple others. Let me check with a couple of people that deal with hair off tanning and see what if anything we can come up with.

Yost Fur Dressing, does a nice job, the couple times I have used them, but they are in Wisconson. I quit handling buck skin too. Specialty Leather (Think that's the name) Used them once a lot of years ago for some Cape Buffalo leather. They have a lot of color choices. Think they were in Illinois

These guys do:

I have a partial elk hide with them right now, hoping it turns out well.
You will never shoot a camp bull by spending all your time hunting in the woods.
