Kuiu icon pro 3200
« on: January 15, 2017, 03:24:53 PM »
I'm seriously thinking about buying this pack. Mostly as a day pack for hunting but also hoping it's big enough to to an over nighter now and then. Is it big enough for an over night pack?

Barely. I  wanted to use it for a 3 nighter and couldn't make it happen. I'd seriously consider the 5200 rather than the 3200

So would I be better off going 1850 and 5200?

For any trips I would want the 5200.   Maybe start with that and decide if you can't strap it down enough for day hikes.   I run the 3000 Ultra Bag for a day bag.  Lighter material and more streamlined than the Icon Pro.  IMO no need to go smaller than that for a daypack as it straps down to nothing - the 1800 might be a lil snug you stuff it with an extra shirt, top and bottom raingear, kill kit, snacks, spotter, tripod, shells, lunch, cap, gloves, gamebag, water, and such.

ON sale you can get the ultra bag for like $65

You should have no problem doing an over night trip with 3200 inches....odds are your packing something you don't need if you need more

I run an 1850 and 5200. The 5200 packs down plenty to wear close to empty as a day pack when you are out for a weekend.

I just bought the ultra 3000 and it's an easy overnight pack. Will be getting a larger bag for longer stays and taking the 3000 for the day bag.
