Wow....some of the comments in this thread really make me want to 

We wonder why folks don't like to share photos on here. This is a perfect example of one of the reasons for that.

An outfitter shares a photo from last year and you are concerned that people question that? I am happy he shared the photo by the way but he should have shared the coordinates also. The outfitter did make it sound like he had exclusive rights to the bull for his clients and maybe one of his clients will take that bull or maybe not. Relax...Kent did.

It's a trend. Folks post a pic, other folks nitpick it apart. Initial folks don't ever post pics again. Folks that nitpick the pics never post pictures of their own. It's a vicious circle.

I have seen many pics posted here and most are thanked for their pics. I have not seen what you see but I am relatively new to the forum. Maybe outfitters that advertise here might enjoy some shilling from time to time? If an outfitter posts a pic of last years elk that he doesn't even know if it still exists then maybe the forum should call him on it which I did. Kent admitted it was last years and posted "LOL". I think most of us get it. My post wasn't to be mean, it was to post the obvious. He posted "LOL" signaling he was not upset. I asked him to post coordinates. Did you guys really think anyone will do that especially an outfitter? Duh.  I appreciate his posting of the pic and have been considering his services. I don't hunt ghost elk or last years elk though so we shall see...

Ok guys everyone just needs to settle down. I have pictures of this bull for the last 3 yrs. I will be posting this years picture of him when I can get up to his home. But with more snow than last year and about 30 downed trees that I will have to cut out even to get up into his area I wont get any pic of him until Aug some time. And with wanting a client to take that bull this year I wont bother him as much as if I new we where going to let him mature for another year. If you bust a mature bull out of his home you might not see him the rest of the season. This is one reason I dont post that many pic on this site and only show clients most of the bulls that we have been watching and will be going after each year. Thanks for all the positive post and good luck to all this year !

just because they have velvet on doesn't mean they are still growing, they spend about a month or more just hardening there antlers, they are about done growing, maybe a inch or 2 at most per tine is all they will grow still.

Agreed.  The bulls in our unit start rubbing the velvet off the second week of August but they are done growing on the cams by third week of July.  This is based off 5 years of game camera data.

I worked for Kent last fall and pulled pack strings into his territory. I can assure you that there are elk back there that haven't seen humans.  He has some of the best elk country I've seen and I've worked as a guide in British Columbia, Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho.  It's deep and steep country and he knows every bit of it.  If you want to backpack in there help yourself but you better be in shape.  And if you want a Goat he's definitely your man.  It's prime country and a really long trip from the trailhead.

Thanks for posting, WPO, and good luck getting him!  I promise you for myself at least that you'll have no competition from me.  Try and get a bull within a few miles from the roads though, and no promises  .

Sheesh, I'll be happy to shoot that bull's middle son.

I may have found one of the camps we are discussing after I completely misjudged the distance to a certain place.  I hiked about 5 miles further than I had anticipated and there it was.  I found it right after the realization that I was in so far there was zero chance of getting a bull out of there, so I spent the night and hiked back out the next day.  The spot I was going to glass would have been about 12 miles from a trailhead and it wasn't a pretty 12 miles.
