Gun Smith That Does Good Stock Work
« on: June 24, 2019, 09:18:40 PM »
I've finally found a nice rifle for my son, and now I need to shorten the LOP.  It is a left handed Ruger M-77 Hawkeye with a wood stock.  So I'm looking for a good gun smith that does very good stock work that can cut the butt down and is located in the south sound area. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know a gunsmith but are you dead set on keeping that stock? You could get a Boyd's stock for $150 or so and your son could pick out a cool pattern he likes

Limbsaver in Shelton used to trim stocks for a minor fee when installing one of their pads.
Give them a call to verify if that's a route you want to take.

I've never met a gunsmith that cant handle shortening a stock for LOP.

I dont know a gunsmith in south sound but will check with my retired Army buddy in Lacey for a recommendation.
