Model 94 30-30 year?
« on: June 30, 2019, 12:51:08 PM »
Trying to find out a yr and value of a model 94- I think it was purchased in the 90’s or early 2000’s. It’s never been fired and the serial number is 3174709. Any body have any ideas? Thinking about selling it as it’s just taking up space.
Thanks

You can tell the year by the serial number, I can't remember where I saw the chart that listed that info, but someone else probably has that info and will reply.

I tried that link - it’s says “not found”
Maybe that is just for old models?

If you can't find it you probably have one of those knockoffs made in China. Those go for around a Benjamin.

This site says it is 1968.   I copied and pasted your serial number and that is the result.  Can’t gaurantee it but it is usually spot on.

Value would be $500.00 to $750 ish for unfired and made in 1968 IMO.   I surf Gunbroker a lot and recently picked up a Ranger Model 94 with a Trapper 16” Barrel in near perfect condition for $560 after tax.  I wouldn’t take less than $500 for it  :twocents:

The Model 94 Trapper 16in barrel models have always been my favs, especially in pistol calibers.  I have one in 44mag and 357 but they're newer with the crossbolt safety.

Used a ‘94 w/ open sites to kill my first whitetail in MI in’74.
Solid little gun. Wouldn’t have much use for it here except maybe black tail  hunting (especially in the rain when scopes get hard to keep cleared)

Me too, it is just a cool little rifle.  This one has a Conestoga Wagon engraved on one side of the receiver and the other side has a Trapper on it and it’s a Saddle ring.   I think I stole it for the price I paid.  It is in .32 Win Special and I shot last weekend.  I truly suck at open sights these days.   I took a couple bucks with my first rifle, a 30-30 Model 94.  Now with my eyes I’m lucky to keep my shots in a paper plate at 50 yds. But, I still love the rifles and have several Model 94’s.  I don’t have any of the cross Bolt safety models, yet!
