Neck gaiter face coverings
« on: July 01, 2020, 09:46:14 PM »
***I'm taking orders now. These are available in white and gray/silver with the image of your choice printed onto them.***

I'm looking to see how many people would be interested in custom printed neck gaiter face coverings. The coverings are 85% polyester and 15% lycra. These would be sublimation printed, so that means I can do a full photo quality image on a white gaiter. Sublimation printing isn't ink on the fabric like a screen print, but actually dying the fabric so that the image doesn't wash off or change the "feel" of the fabric. Also unlike screen printing, each print can be unique and I don't have to make a batch of similar designs. You can pick just about any image, but I have a max print size of about 8"x10.5". This is one that I made for a buddy as a joke. Image is a little washed out because it's printed on a silver fabric, but you'll get the idea.

I know the face coverings are a hot topic, but many folks (like myself) are required to wear them at times while working and I thought this would be a way to have some fun with it. The printed gaiters would be $10 each plus a few dollars for shipping. The minimum order for the blanks is pretty high, but if I can get enough interest I'll order them.

Yes, absolutely. That’s the cool thing about sublimation prints, they just get printed one at a time with a sublimation printer, so it’s the same time/material cost to print 100 of the same design or 100 individual styles. And there’s very few limitations on the images that can be printed.

That's racist!  :chuckle:

I'll order some of the grey/silver style too. Just remember that the image washes a bit out on darker colors. The trick is that I can't sublimate the color white, so anything that would be white in the image will show up the color of the mask.

I checked and the manufacturer doesn't specifically state that these are UV rated, so I assume that they aren't.

$10 printed with whatever image you’d like.

Can I get a white one with this on it?

Only if you promise to take a picture while wearing it and use that as your avatar.  :chuckle:

Yes, any image. Sublimation is a pretty cool process; it's the same process used to make mugs, photo tiles, and stuff like that. It only works on polyester fabric and specially coated sublimation blanks though, so it does have limitations.

I can't find specific info from the vendor about where the blanks are made, but I assume China. I'll let you know when the blanks show up.

Alright, I got the first batch of blank white masks in today and the silver/gray one should be here tomorrow. Anyone interested can either send me a message here or send me an email. You can have any image you'd like printed on there and you can send me the image you want to use. The best size for a print is about 4"x5", but it depends on how big your face is. :chuckle:

The price will be $10 each plus $3 to ship them. If you want a couple of them I'll figure out how many I can stuff into a small flat rate box. If anyone wants more than 10, let me know and we can work a deal on the pricing.

Here are two more of the masks I've made so far just to give you some ideas. These were both shirt designs that I made for myself to wear at work. :chuckle:

I dont think they have ear hangers.  I do believe they are neck gaiters like you would wear hunting but I am not 100% sure

They don't have ear hangers, they're a gaiter like emac and Jolten said. Jolten's avatar pic is what they'll look like when you wear it. :chuckle:
