Well... Any ammo available?
« on: August 07, 2020, 05:59:30 PM »
I just got my first pistol, a 22/45... Excited to get out to practice. Turns out I was woefully ignorant of the current ammo shortage. What a bummer!

Anyone have any hints for where to find some in this current climate, especially SW WA? PM if necessary.

Man, my timing!

I use velocity ammo , free shipping over 100$ usually takes about a week and tax is included or they dont charge it not sure lol I do t ask questions , I have always got what I ordered and they have some stuff in stock right now . Not sure about local ammo though .

I'll eventually buy in bulk if store stock levels ever rise, but if you're selling, just enough to go plinking and get used to the new gun.

PM me what you have.

https://www.sgammo.com/product/22-lr-ammo/500-round-brick-22-lr-match-grade-40-grain-lead-ammo-made-geco-germany

The price is inflated, for sure, but a couple of these should keep you shooting for a while.

If you get to the NE, I am sure I could spare a bit, but you'd probably pass about 10 other HWers with a similar offer along the way.

I mean... it's Geco. I forget, are they the ones that'll let you test a bunch of ammo in your rifle if you come to their range and commit to buying several cases of a single batch? PRS, I tell ya  :chuckle:

22lr is in and out of stock a lot, try ammoseek and set up an alert if you don't see prices you like, or just keep checking it until you find something you like. My impression is the supply chain is starting to catch up, but I dunno. You should be able to find standard bulk stuff from Federal, CCI, Aguila, something like that in the 7-9 cpr range if you're patient.

EDIT: ...well that's what I get for not looking. That's a pretty good price for that Geco from sgammo. Love those folks. And I was thinking of Eley ofc

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

Cleaned out.

Do we need to :beatdeadhorse: any more than has been? That's rhetorical. .....no need to answer.

Back on track please.  Props to those offering links, assistance,  or even willing to just give a helpful suggestion.

jdb was kind enough to help me out! Still, if anyone gets word of some retailers that are finally back in stock - spill the beans for all of us!
