Coming around a corner and caught this view in my peripheral, thought I had a nontypical/MASS buck staring at me.  :chuckle: :chuckle:

Great photos!  Those of us who still hunt timber and brush have put the "stalk" on more stump bucks than we'll ever tell.  I was "walking" a  brushy clear cut with my nephew several years ago when I spotted a V shape in the brush.  I pointed it out to him.  He said he only looked for moving deer.  Had I actually been able to see deer bedded he asked?  Yes I said.  So we put the stalk on the V shape, me expecting a buck to jump any second.  It was sticks......   Nice photos I think I'll send them to him.

Best one I had was a stump buck with a squirrel for a twitchy ear :yike: Almost flung an arrow!

Especially when it’s foggy, or now when the smoke is as thick as fog.  I’ve wasted a lot of time waiting for a stump to give me a clear shot.....

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
