Success!
« on: October 20, 2020, 06:34:50 PM »
My 2020 buck isnt a "trophy" to rack hunters but I'm not eating tag soup so I'm happy. This was my first year really hunting in the timber for deer, quite different to a guy used to hunting the wide open deserts of eastern Washington! Anyhow, I bumped into this fella while he was palling around with a 2x2 and a few doe. For once the wind was in my favor and even though I was spotted they didnt spook. Took my first clean shot and he dropped on the spot.
Anyway, good luck to everyone still hunting!

Congrats!
It is foolish and wrong to mourn these men.  Rather, we should thank god that such men lived.  -General George S. Patton

Congrats! Pretty sure that’s a trophy in any blacktail hunter’s eyes. Beautiful mature buck!

Did you have a "once in a lifetime hunt (you will never be able to duplicate)?
Did you enjoy the people you were with?
Did you love the hunt?

Any of these make it a "Trophy" in my book, congratulations!  :hello:
Only 2 defining forces sacrificed themselves for you:
The American Soldier and Jesus Christ. One died for your freedom, the other for your soul.

My rock,
He trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle.

Thanks fellas!
I had a great hunt and would gladly take the same animal again. Any deer I take is a trophy to me, I just meant he wasnt that gig in the antler department. I still might do a euro mount as he ended a several year dry spell for me. I'm proud to have meet in the freezer.

That’s a nice looking deer.
No apologies needed.
A trophy is relative to the owner.
Be very proud!

grats yeah meat is better than tag soup any day again grats
"When my bow falls, so shall the world. When me heart ceases to pump blood to my body, it will all come crashing down. As a hunter, we are bound by duty, nay, bound by our very soul to this world. When a hunter dies we feel it, we sense it, and the world trembles with sorrow. When I die, so shall the world, from the shock of loosing such a great part of ones soul." Ezekiel, Okeanos Hunter
