My initial thought is a Recce 7.
I sold two Recce 5s to a friend for his Ruger Predators in .223 and it’s a pleasant shooting experience. Given the higher pressure and energy of .22-250, I’d start with a 7 instead of a 5. That’s on the lower side of costs.

If you’re looking for high end, I’d start with a Magnus.

If you’re trying to get into the SilencerCo BOGO,  the Omega 300 would be the route to go with a .224 front cap

Lots of great cans out there.  Any of the TBAC stuff is top notch and their Ultra7 or Ultra9 are two of the best 1.5in diameter cans out there.  TBAC Magnus is bad to the bone can but it’s a fair bit bigger, heavier, and more expensive but it’s an awesome suppressor for sure.  I’d take a serious look at the Dead Air Nomad LTi it’s also an awesome suppressor but isn’t quite as long or heavy as the Magnus and will save you a few hundred bucks too. 

Any of those four will make you very happy.

Gotcha. I see what they have published as LT and they also refer to it as just L. Perhaps the confusion for me is in the consistent change in what the product is referred to as. L, LT, LTi…They all could be different compositions for the same size and design but, it appears they are all the same.

Completely understandable, they don't always make it easy to keep track of the nomenclature.  DA makes a Nomad L and a Nomad LTi which is often just called the "LT" and I believe the only difference between the two is the Nomad L is stainless steel and the LTi/LT is titanium.  I'm a huge fan of TBAC cans and their products are always top shelf but for it's size and weight that DA Nomad LTi/LT is an outstanding suppressor.  As you know, the Magnus is a crazy quiet can but if someone didn't want to go with a Magnus the Nomad LT is one of the best 30 cal and under cans on the market and will save the buyer about an inch in length, 500-500+ bucks and a few ounces in weight as well as not giving up a whole lot with regard to sound suppression.  But, if a person wants the quietest 30 cal suppressor on the market the TBAC Magnus is the one to get.

I believe that's what it was designed for. I have a Nomad Ti that's similar in size, weight and material and it's awesome to shoot on my 6.5 creed. I'd expect the Scythe to perform similarly.

Give it a year+ for end users to get their experiences posted.

Suppressors with multiple ports on the front will generally suppress less than the same or comparable with a singular hole.

Also, what caliber(s) you’re planning to hunt with should drive your choice. Something rated for a caliber(s) or pressure does not mean it’s good at it. Example, I have a Dead Air Nomad Ti, it doesn’t suppress 300WM or .308 or 6.8 SPC enough to allow me to shoot without hearing protection. However, it’s great with 300 Blackout.

Sounds kinda funny to say but actual noise suppression is lower on the priority list, as long as it is hearing safe under hunting conditions. Weight and recoil impulse control are probably the top two factors, since it just won't get carried if it's too heavy or cumbersome. The Nomad was a top contender as well but on some other forums guys are pretty excited about this scythe for whatever reason. This would be on a 18-20" magnum though so noise suppression will still be a considerable factor

Hunting conditions…out in an open area, tree stand, dense timber, nylon blind, all of the above and more. It doesn’t really matter what condition the hunting scenario is in, a suppressor will either reduce the db SPL enough to your liking or not. I can shoot my .308 multiple time with a Magnus without hearing protection. I can also shoot my 300WM with it enclosed in a blind without ringing my bell. I’m not doing either of those with a Nomad Ti because it doesn’t suppress enough. I also would not use a Nomad because of how much it weighs.

A ten ounce suppressor on the front end is negligible in weight. The Schythe is published to weigh less, and it’s new to the market. A person that’s really into getting what is new on the market or just really into the brand would be excited to see that SilencerCo now has a titanium silencer.

There’s plenty of titanium silencers on the market and the Scythe does not have published sound levels from SilencerCo that are considered hearing safe.

Thanks Dreadi, I always appreciate your input on the forum as you are clearly very knowledgeable on the subject and I am quite the opposite when it comes to suppressors  by "hunting conditions" I mostly just meant one or two shots, since 99% of my rifle hunting is hiking and glassing. 10 ounces does seem negligible but on certain hunts it might as well be 5 lbs
