Chiliwist quality buck

Well I burned my deer points before moving to Idaho.  Drew the Chiliwist late archery.   I’m fairly familiar with the area and will be looking at the Texas creek and Chiliwist butte areas but hoping for past success stories and photos and any tips anyone is willing to share!   Willing to help out on Idaho info as well.   Thanks!

Very fun tag.

You’re naming the right areas. Depending on snow access some of the north west corner can be really good too.

Had it in 2013 and 2015, 13 was a good cold year with lots of snow in the high country, passed ten bucks opening day everyone of them were 4x4 or better, stalked within 20 on the 11th bucks of the day and shot just over his back down hill, just before dark I found the one, 4x4 173 3/8” is what he would eventually score. 2015 was not nearly as productive, snow didn’t show until late and the area we were hunting had a large cat and wolfs reaking havoc on the heard. With a good weather system that unit still has potential.
