Bow sights, Razor style vs pins?
« on: April 29, 2009, 04:01:39 PM »
So whats the majority say? Im new to this. I hear the regular styles sights cover some of the target, I hear razor styles have there ups and downs too.

In your opinion, whats the best? What manufacturer makes the best? I want to buy one sight and money is no object what would you buy?

Spot Hogg is good 5 pin or 7 pin Wrapped and new sights for 09 are Axcel Armortech HD from Tru-Ball in 4, 5,or 7 pin
and the new Octane NXS Bowsight 5 pin and then you have 1 pin sights (Thats what I use) HHA and the new Spot Hogg Boss Hogg or The Hogg Father.

I just upgraded to the Axcel Armortech, and the guys that have the Spot Hogg were looking at it and wishing that it was their sight.  It's the best of the best as far as I can see.  It's a bit bright for the 3D shoots, but I just put a cover over the light collector part, and it's perfect for full sun.  The best things that I can see about it it that there are no exposed fibers anywhere (they run inside a metal tube), and the fibers are cut off at their true diameter and not melted (mushroomed) out to a much larger size in order to hold the fiber in the pin.  My eyes pick up that focused spot much better than the melted fiber sights, so I can aim more effectively with it.

I've heard and seen great things with the Spot Hogg line, but this is the sight to beat it, and at a slightly lower price, too.

Switched from SpotHogg to Armortech this year so far it's a great sight, heard they were going to start offering them customized with your choice of pin colors and sizes. I have the 7 pin .010 and it seems to be built as good and as durable if not more so than the Spot Hogg.
