HELP Turkeys for my son?
« on: April 29, 2009, 05:16:50 PM »
My son was in the turkey calling contest at Cabelas in March and had a great time. He took second place for the kids division using his diaphram call :whoo:. Due to school and baseball I did not get to take him with me turkey hunting in Colville. He told me he NEEDS to call in a turkey for me to shoot this year. We found out today that he has no baseball game this Saturday and I was hoping someone on here knew of a place closer then Colville that I could take him to call turkeys and have a possibility of a response. I do NOT need to harvest one, I would love to let him call one though. If someone knows a place where I could take him I would be grateful. We live on the wet side so I know it is a trip over the mountains and that is great, but Colville for over and back is too far. Like I said I do not need to shoot one if you have a spot of land where shooting is not OK but calling would be,that would be cool I just want to get him out and taste it. I know I am creating a monster :chuckle: but there are certainly worse things to have him addicted to. Thanks.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield
