Kettle Range Bull moose permit holders?
« on: October 11, 2021, 01:36:45 AM »
I know of two now that are filled. I’m currently still holding mine. Being a local with lots of time in not rushing yet. The ole lady filled hers tonight on a great 43” bull. 2 of the 3 bulls I’ve seen since the opener are now dead. Anyone seeing any rut activity in these units? I’ve found one fresh rub and one wollow, that bull was taken on the 3rd. Been high and low. Hunted off horses in the back country for 5 days. Didn’t even see a moose.

My buddy guided someone on to one a week or so ago. Didn’t hear the story yet, just heard third hand from one of the guys that went to help load it. 43” sounds familiar, was hers up by Swan? I’ve got a couple spots I can go check out and see if there’s any fresh sign for ya. So far I’ve only found one really good looking spot but I feel it gets hammered in deer season. Hall creek out of republic on Sherman. No matter how many moose get killed back there I always find new ones the next year. I’ll go tonight to another spot that had a little bull the last couple years, maybe he grew up. Tomorrow I’m in Idaho but Wednesday I’ll try looking again. Good luck!
May my presence go unnoticed, may my shot be true, may the blood trail be short.

Amen

I’ve spent all week out. Pretty slow going. Couple cows, small bull on Wednesday. Haven’t seen a moose since. I’m predicting that this weather front that has moved in will be ideal. As long as the fog cooperates
