SB 5656 Would Require WDFW Commissioners be Confirmed within 12 Months

SB 5656 would require WDFW Commissioners be confirmed by the state Senate within 12 months of their appointment. If the individual is not confirmed the governor must make another appointment to the Commission.

The bill had it's public hearing today. Sportsmen's groups are in favor of the bill, anti-hunting groups are opposed to the bill.

The fly in the ointment is they would go before the Committee Van de Wege controls. As long as he is Chair Sportsmen will never get anyone good.
