NEAH BAY report
« on: August 14, 2022, 12:58:37 PM »
Spend the last few days up at Neah Bay.  Awesome fishing, we stayed on Swiftsure bank every day and plenty of kings and coho. Trawlers came out for a day or two and the fishing slowed but we still scratched em out.  Garbage dump finally started producing hali, blue dot was on fire I guess the whole time for kings and hali. Most other spots were producing too.  Lot of current at Swiftsure but great water.

nice catch.  You have to love the days/trips when you can fish for salmon, Hali and seabass.  Makes it worth the trip.  Also big plus for being able to keep "native" kings.

Man that is awesome!!  I'm not a big hali fan but that's a perfect pile of meat right there!!  How much for a day of fishing? bass, lings and salmon?

The deepest king was 225 on the wire, good current so actual depth is unknown.  We caught fish from 90 to 225. Most kings were around 180-200 on the wire and we caught coho 150-180 even small hatchery fish.  Really spread out, Swiftsure halibut was tough to scratch out limits but doable (for us atleast)  Every day was about the same so after 3 full days we had enough fish plus for the year.  Whales were unreal to watch, seen the Salmon for Soldiers out there and gave them a salute!  Bless AMERICA!  Great work from Fred Walker and his boat.  Blue dot was hot and reports said average hali was 30-60lbs but we never ran down there.  Table top sucked from what my buddy told me.  Some boats ran down past C closure for tuna. Garbage dump was slow until Saturday and then turned on.  Good coho fishing but I feel like the mass hasn't showed up yet, the coho freight train is coming.

Thanks for the detailed report! I'm hoping there's still a king or two around this weekend. Hopefully tuna too.
