Bison Hide Tanning
« on: December 22, 2022, 02:19:10 PM »
Buddy of mine in Seattle (not on this forum) was lucky enough to get a bison recently and is looking to have the hide tanned.  Not a rug, just a basic tanning of the hide with no head or feet.  I've poked around in this section and can only seem to find the taxidermists that aren't recommended.  Anyone have recommendations for decently priced tanner, preferably on the wet side, and what even is a reasonable price?  Thanks in advance

Bison hides run about $900 each to have done at a tannery.

I send my hides Beaver and small game to Moyle Mink & tannery in Idaho.. They do Bison hides I think its Bison ultra is the process.  I am extremely pleased with the quality of my hides from them.   The leather is first rate on my furs.  I guarantee I am not the only guy here that uses them.
