Stolen from GWP’s post

Seeing this coming and you are 30+ mph I believe the concept of a bluff charge would disappear as fast as my pants would fill.

No such thing as a bluff charge, by the time you could tell, I would be too late to act.
That bear is obviously diving on a fish.
People that are afraid of bears should just stay out of the woods and leave them to the hippie trail runners with headphones on.
Very similar to Eichlers brown bear charge from several years ago. That one happened in less then 2 seconds….

I pulled that from somewhere, not sure where, so it is not really mine.
I keep it around to remind me of “What real power is”, stealing from a movie line.

Serious truth there, every time I see a grizzly charge video, I am staggered by the velocity and power an animal that huge can move.
And how ineffective we are with tools. Even then it is hit or miss on the whims of 500+ lbs of seriously pissed off grizzly  :yike:

Stuck in the rut #168 is a pretty good vid about a near attack.

That was an attack they got lucky and stopped it before it got on them. I don't comment on many videos on youtube I did on that one.
They got so lucky when so many things went bad, and they put themselves in a bad spot and made some poor choices. They have been doing a few things iffy on their bear hunts and had been rolling the dice and it just about caught up with them on that trip. I am glad they realized it and learned some lessons. That was close to 2 not making it home.

There was definitely no doubt in his intention.
It is foolish and wrong to mourn these men.  Rather, we should thank god that such men lived.  -General George S. Patton
