You never know until you get up there that time of year. You can pretty much trust topo maps that show springs, most of them are reliable. I wouldn't trust a spring for an October trip if it isn't on a map. The problem with that country is it may show a spring just off the trail but it is so steep it can be a heck of a hike to get down (and back up) to it. The most reliable way is to find out if horses are using it or if horses (guides) are riding in, they know where the reliable water is. On top of those ridges the water certainly can be hard to find. My suggestion is to fill up before you make the ascent so you at least have one day of water, you may be coming down the next if you don't find it, just how it is up there.
