Spartan javelin bipods, anybody have experience with them?

I'm 99% sure either the pro hunt or the pro hunt tac will be the bipod I buy for my new rifle.  Does anybody have experience with the pro hunt?  Do the twist legs stay put or do you feel like they want to compact after "locking" them down.  At least with the tac model you actually have a notch to catch it so it won't slide when locking it.  Is the little bit of extra weight on the tac model worth the peace of mind in the long run?

I have the Spartan Pro Hunt.  I love it.  I put a receiver mount on all of my rifles so that I can use it on all of them. 

The twist legs stay in place for me just fine.  It takes some getting used to where to set the height based on the terrain you're on and the angle of shot.  But once you get used to it the Spartan is great. I keep it in my pack while hiking in, and once I get to a spot to survey an area I put it on there.  Then put it back in my pack when it's time to go.  I like how easy it is to attach and detach.   But again, practice with it alot to get used to the different heights and angles.   

But to be clear none of my rifles are overly heavy.  They run from 6lbs to 9lbs in weight.  Perhaps a heavy 12lb gun may put more pressure on those legs?  But my experience has been great so far.

Twist lock legs want to just spin, so it takes two hands to adjust to keep the legs from spinning. Once locked in, they are solid though.

I own the pro hunt as well. Twist lock is solid, it won't slip on you. My only complaint is that if you use the little holster on your pack waist belt, the legs will eventually work loose and fall off from small repetitive touches. I've lost both legs on mine twice. Going to put it somewhere else this next season. Otherwise I've been happy with it.

I hunted with the javelin lite last year and was happy. Ordered the Pro hunt and haven't taken it afield yet but seems like a solid from messing with it so far. Will be ordering more adapters and make all my rifles accept a javelin.

No issues with the twist locks in the 6 years I've had mine.  It's no Atlas but plenty stable for the weight savings.

You can order just the legs later if you decided to go with a different style.

I would go with the tac. I'm fine with the twist lock legs but they're definitely tough to adjust with one hand.

Had to get one of my twist legs replaced.  It works, carry it in leg pocket.   Would prefer a non twist style

I can pretty much echo what others have said. I’ve loved the javelin, in long. I generally carry it on my pack hip belt. I love not having the bulk and small amount of weight on my rifle at all times.

The twist legs are fine. But I’m going to try to upgrade to the spring loaded ones this year.

I got some grip tape and put it on the twist locks on mine to make it easier to adjust one handed and when its cold out. Havent had any trouble with the bipod or twist locks.

 I do wish every bipod came with or had the option of carbide feet like it has.

Good idea. Part of the difficulty with the twist legs is how smooth that twist knob is. Impossible to turn with gloves.
