WSTA Rendezvous/fur auction rehash
« on: April 02, 2023, 08:43:02 AM »
At the end of the day there was a bundle of beaver left over. George said it was Lot# 17 and that he had purchased it but the seller had not came up to be paid for it. We are trying to figure out who's it was and Goerge will mail him a check. If this was you let us know to help us clear this up.
Due to a mix up Bill Largent never was able to do his bobcat demo and I will take the blame for that.
It was the first time for Lauren being Executive Secretary so there were probably a few improvements to be made but I think things went pretty well. We would like to hear of any improvements you think need to be made or suggestions.
I hope everyone had a good time and were happy with prices paid for their fur.

I had a good time. Really enjoyed seeing miss rodeo Washington and hearing that she supports Washington trappers and the fur industry. Was really bummed we didn't get to see Bill put up a bobcat. Been looking forward to that for months...
Seems like there is too much time wasted just shooting the breeze. Could have been demos going all morning and half the afternoon. There was a wealth of knowledge in that room and it would have been great to hear some of it.

It was pretty darn good day except some crazy weather.
Lots of fur; more than I expected and prices seemed to be pretty good too.
Quit a few Buyers too.  I can see that prices are coming up and what I read and know it looks like they will be coming back up over the next few years.
It was great to see Doug back.

I got a chance to talk to a few people, received some nice comments on our magazine.
I have heard it from several people not just here in Washington that we have a good magazine just as good as some Nationals.  :yike:  I'm not sure of that.
I also picked up at least one "New Writer" and maybe a couple more that are sitting on the fence.
It looks like I will be sticking around for a little longer as the Publisher/Editor
I hope all of you like the magazine.   I have some new stuff coming out in the next couple of issues.
If there is something you would like to see new shot me an email.

As for any idea's for the next winter rendezvous I'm thinking maybe shorten up the demo's so we can get an extra one or two in.
Oh and lets get some "Heat" in the building.  Us old folks can't take the cold anymore  :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Starting making your plans now for the Summer Rendezvous folks.  You know its going to be a great one.
JC   :hello:
