That one Chocolate was determined.    Can't get there on the left, let me swing around to the right.  Nope!  They all caught on really quick.  Great looking litter!!!!

Yeah that was one of the girls, she got it, but boy was she ever determined!

Cute Puppy Video!
Demo video (if you’ve been following along) on transitioning the audibles from just emotion to actual command words… Back, Sit, and Food. They don’t even realize they’re learning!

I’m using what they know (food dish manners training) to train a new concept (a praise word that is NOT a release.) Really makes them listen specifically! They’re not just listening for an emotion. Or for words (talking to the camera is a helpful tool too!) Instead, they’re listening for the specific word “FOOD!”

I’m teaching them the word “Good” in a smooth happy pleased tone, and incorporating it with petting and individual attention and special focus, but then if they assume it’s a release, they immediately get the teakettle flip!
     They get it quickly! It’s what they hear when they’re doing it right, but they’re not supposed to go to the next thing yet.
     Perfect scenario to teach!

Moved the puppies to the "Big Kid Kennel" yesterday morning. They settled in well. I practiced gate manners ONCE, had a few teakettles then walked over today and.....

Here’s from today… transitioning to sit and wait as I move away from them.

I didn’t realize the chocolate boy was behind me sitting dutifully until I felt him there! I was holding up a tray full of sloshing slurried food.
     (That’s typically why I wear crocs and do lots of this with my toes, my hands are often full.)

Six weeks and three days!

Four boys still available!

I sure love my versatile dogs based on the amount of upland I do, but labs always have a fond spot in my heart from back in my youth/teenage years.

HH,  All my dogs are individually owned, and all the owners of my pack still live with me! My house is kinda crowded! (People [9] AND dogs [5] !) I really can't add right now.
     I'm going to retire my Matriarch this year, and just hunt her and love on her. Then after the two other girls retire out, (Hopefully they'll be MOVED out by then too!) I want to take a break and focus on my damascus knives.
     If we do get back into whelping pups, my wife wants to consider going with a more designer dog. I hate the idea, but the pet market sure seems to favor useless and genetically weakened dogs. I sure love my solid, garbage gut, happy-go-lucky, 200 word vocabulary Labs! But I might moderate her idea a little and go with a compromise, like maybe Goldens.
     In any case, my dog career is going to take a pause after a couple more litters... (I HOPE other breeders pick up the puppy conditioning ideas, it's so much better for Dog Kind in general...) so I can't take on another pup right now.

Second black boy is available though, they're doing great in the focus and attention work... if you want to trade me a nice 1911 or something?!?!?!

Yeah sounds like a full house for sure!  No problem then. 

Sounds like you have some plans to slow down but are still 're plenty busy.

I have a colt commander (alloy frame, 4") that are kind of unique and it doesn't get packed much anymore that I'd consider.  PM if interested.

GLWS and I'll ask around if anyone I know is looking for a male Lab.
