Let me start off by saying I don't care what boots you wear, this is just a real world experience with two different brands that I now love. I tried the Kenetrek line, I wanted to love them. Bottom line is they are the most uncomfortable boots I've ever put on MY feet. So a couple years ago I tried on some Lowa Tibet gtx's. They were comfy yet stiffer and supportive while trying them on. I only wear them for hunting, hiking, being in the woods, which is a lot. Never for work. I've hauled many heavy pack outs, been through shallow creeks, thick rainy forests, and steep hillsides. Other than a few small chips in the rubber skirting the leather, they still look great and are still waterproof. I do clean them and re treat the leather a couple times a yr. Love them!
2nd pair are Whites Owyhee. Also 2+years. Honestly, these are the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. I wear these strictly for work which also has me outside a lot and in the weather. I'm often times standing in leachate (garbage water), and around gasses. The rubber around the leather is just barely starting to separate slightly in places on these now which I'm going to glue up, and they too are still waterproof. I treat them 2-3 times a year also. Where I work usually will destroy a pair of leather boots in less than a yr if they make it that long. So these have far exceeded my expectations. I wouldn't hesitate to hunt in the Whites, I just like to keep my hunting/work boots separate. Just two quality options if the other brands don't work for you. I'm 5'8" 170 lbs so your mileage may vary compared to mine. Keep those feet happy!
