Beaver dam
« on: February 18, 2024, 12:55:14 PM »
Here’s the dilemma. My absentee neighbor has a stream running through his property and a beaver has built a dam, resulting in flooding on both our properties. The beaver is wreaking havoc on my quaking aspens. I am working on getting permission to resolve the issue. I live in unincorporated King County, near Issaquah/ Renton area. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to solve the beaver problem?

Trap them or get someone who knows how to do it for you. They will take every tree you have down in no time so I wouldn’t wait around. I’m too far away to help but I’m sure someone  close will speak up

That’s what I was hoping/ looking for is someone who might be able to come trap it. I should also mention I would trade some  quality organic beef or some fresh salmon( this coming summer) for services rendered. :)

Does the creek run through your property or just your neighbors ?

Just my neighbors. That’s where the dam is located. However, the beaver comes up a drainage ditch onto my property to
get my aspens.

I just got permission from my neighbor for access onto his property and to fix the problem. Any trappers out there that would like to get this guy?

Sounds like that ditch on your property. Be a great place for a trap. Should be able to catch him. Good luck. Hope we resolve the issue.

Some people wrap chicken wire around the bases of their trees to protect them.
