Desert Unit Rifle in October Tag
« on: June 15, 2024, 07:41:07 AM »
After 20 years I finally drew the Desert tag for rifle in October. Excited to see what I might bump into out there. Iíve helped a friend that drew the November tag 2 years in a row back in 2017 and 18. The second time he drew it with a hunters Ed instructor tag. Lots of scouting planned to be ready to hit the ground running.

Great tag. Not to be a Debbie downer but the quality seems to be dropping every year. 18 was a great year for quality bucks. Last year we were hard pressed to pass a 175Ē buck.

2014 Desert October hunt. Just tell yourself you are going to hold out because you are going to see some big bucks

I should have a good idea of what to hold out for after all of the pre hunt scouting I plan on doing. Iím excited just for the chance to see multiple legal bucks in a day. I donít get much of that where I normally hunt.
