wood pellets for the smoker

Where do you guys buy your smoker pellets?  There was a forum member that sold them but he no longer does so I thought I would ask.

I get mine at sams nw bbq in sherwood oregon. That's where I bought my smoker. I like the Myron mixon pellets.

We are a Lumberjack dealer in Wenatchee.  Same Pellets Lamrith used to sell.  Lumberjack pellets are great quality without the additives.  If anyone is in the Wenatchee area or passing through and would like some just let me know and we can work something out.

If enough members show some interest we could possibly do a group buy to cut costs - might even be able to make a delivery to the Redmond area if that happens.  Thanks

Lumberjack are the best pellets I've used. I'm about due for another trip to Wenatchee to stock up.

D&B down here in eastern Oregon, but back in western WA I’d just buy from Home Depot. Traeger apple or signature blend.

Do you guys REALLY notice a difference in brands? Had my Treager since they 1st came out, have used many brands and honestly cant tell a difference in brands or flavors. Usually buy whatevers on sale, usually at Coastal.

The everyday stuff is OK, but I prefer Lumberjack. They burn cleaner less ash, and the burn is consistence temperature wise. And you're not paying extra for a name on the bag. @bearhunter99 is a dealer on the east side.

Same here.  I've used Traeger pellets, Bear Mountain, The Tractor Supply Brand, Kingsford Brand, and a couple others.  I have yet to tell the difference of any of them.

There is a slight difference in flavor and profile.  Some of the brands like Traeger use oils and additives instead of the actual wood product.  They are also a lot dirtier from what I have experienced.  I get way less burn back in my auger with the Lumberjack.

You might not be able to tell which is which but there is a difference in flavor and quality. Most people that don't smoke much couldn't tell the difference but if you use your smoker a lot you can tell, especially when is comes to cleaning your smoker.  Traeger pellets leave a greasy film all over the inside of the smoker after a few smokes.  I have had pretty good luck with Bear Mountain as well but there is a difference if you smoke a lot of meat...

Most folks couldnt tell you the difference between wood types by taste, much less brands.
