Yesterday I found some quarts at a gas station 13.99 a quart.🤯

I was thinking about going with Costcos heavy duty diesel oil, but it’s made by the company who makes Walmarts brand, not so sure about that.🤔

Was thinking Shell Rotella as it’s sold at Tractor Supply and I get a discount there.

I run Rotella with no issues in my diesel.
Rotella is huge in the mid west.

Rotella is good. Delvac is good. There is nothing wrong with Walmart branded oil.

It looks like Walmart just slaps their label on oil form a couple major refineries.    :dunno:

I'd use the Costco diesel oil without fear. Warren Oil is a reputable manufacturer of engine oil, grease, and lubricants under a lot of labels. I've been using Costco 5w-20 in our Ford vehicles without issue. Hard to beat the price when on sale, 2, 5qt jugs of full synthetic for $30. I do not have any references from anyone using the diesel oil, but if I still owned a diesel, I'd use it.

We have 5 dodge cummins and all of them get the Costco oil with no issues.
The truck I’m in right now has 545,377 miles. Still going strong

Delo is a lot of marketing. It's fine oil but there are many other good oils. Good oil at a decent price look at Mobil Delvac.

Back in the day when I owned Powerstrokes I always used Chevron Delo.  Then went for a long time without a diesel rig.  Now I have a RAM Cummins and a motorhome with a Cummins 400 and a diesel Onan (Cummins) generator.  I use Rotella in all of them.  The RAM gets T6 15w40 and the motorhome and generator gets T4 15w40.

:dunno: When was it discontinued?  :dunno:
It is more available no than a year ago.  Hell, Costco is even selling it again for the last several months.  They had it on the shelf as recently bad Thursday in Lake Stevens

I don’t think Delo was discontinued, some grades of distilled Delo are no longer in production. But other grades and synthetic lubricants are still made

Thanks everyone, I’ll be switching to Costcos heavy duty diesel oil next oil change. I can get it a 1/3 cheaper than Rotella.

I think you and your diesel will be very happy with it.

Rotella T5 for my cummins, every 5k miles.

I know you already made your decision above, but I still wanted to get my doings in this thread.  :chuckle:

Never had an engine lube issue on 1.5 million miles of diesel trucks in my yard. Everything else has had failures. No oil related. Long time ago used Delo on the 7.3. It spun a crank bearing at 360k miles. Was it oil failure? Lol
