Tikka T3X Lite Veil Wideland
« on: November 15, 2024, 08:40:35 PM »
Anybody have any experience with one of these? Leaning towards a 7mm rem mag but not married to that caliber. Looking to hear the pros and cons. Been shooting a Remington 30-06 model 700 but think it’s time to retire it and move on to a new gun. Accuracy from it doesn’t seem to be what it use. It’s the only gun I’ve ever hunted with so I don’t have any experience with anything else.  Really like the action of the Tikka and would prefer a muzzle break, this model seems to be the only one they offer.

I was looking at the tikka several years ago, ended up going with a X bolt hells canyon LR in 7mm mag. No regrets what so ever, it’s a rack driver and with the break the recoil is like nothing at all.

I have the Tikka T3X veil wideland in 7mm. I switched from a model 700 in 30 06. I have been very happy with it, excellent rifle. It has shot sub moa with all factory ammo that I have tried and half moa with some. It's about the right weight for a hunting rifle. Great action, and excellent all around rifle no complaints whatsoever.

I have a veil in 6.5CM in a pure precision stock, a 7mm RM, and x2 .300 Win Mag. The latter being in factory stocks with vertical grips. You could say I am a large fan of the “D18” barrel contour platform with fluted bolts. All shoot great, Norma Bondstrike factory ammo has netted me groups ranging from .388”-.990” in the 6.5CM and my primary 300WM. Wouldn’t hesitate to buy another tomorrow. Hope it helps!

I've got a 6.5 Creed Veil and I freaking love it. That gun has no recoil, its crazy accurate, and I really like the overall fit and feel of it. My wife, 11 yr old son, and 9 yr old daughter have killed multiple deer in the last year with it. I've also got a 300 Win Mag Tikka Roughtech that is, by far, the best and most accurate rifle I've ever had. I would highly recommend Tikkas; coming from the Remington 700 platform previously, I'm sold.

I’ve got one in .270wsm and it’s a tack driver BUT the stocks are still Tupperware so I swap out all stocks with B/C stocks and would never get rid off I’ve got 6 Tikkas for a reason

That would be killer in the .300WSM.

My son has a tikka in the basic black stock stainless in.300WSM it’s great on mule deer, I prefer it to my .300WM

Bought one for my son in a  6.5 Creed. Loved it so much, I bought me one in the 6.5 PRC.  I've always thought there are hunting rifles and target rifles. You can't beat these guns for hunting

I think tikka is about the only off the shelf rifle that hold tight enough tolerances to buy pre-fit hard shouldered barrels for.

I have one in 6.5 PRC. Outstanding rifle. My kids, wife, and I have shot multiple animals with it out to 500 yards with factory ammo. It’s crazy accurate

they’re but like they said they put the $ into the rifle and the stock is what it is if you put a quality stock on it whatever your flavor is it will outperform most people that are pulling the trigger
