2025 North Central WA Mule Deer Foundation Banquet
« on: March 06, 2025, 08:22:29 AM »
Its that time of year again where I prostrate myself before the masses and beg and plead with everyone to come and have a night of fun and a chance to win a gun or other great prizes (seems silly that I have to beg, right?)

All joking aside - we are back again.  We almost decided to hang it up over the winter but have been talked into giving it one more go, at least....

We have our banquet set for April 19, 2025 in Cashmere at the Chelan County Fairgrounds.  Chapter banquets are one of our main sources of revenue and enable us to work on projects to enhance and conserve habitat.    MDF’s Chapter Rewards Program ensures that a portion of the proceeds generated from local banquets will remain in the area to be used on local projects, based on the banquet's net to gross percentage.  The higher the percentage, the better the reward for the local chapter.

Doors open at 5:00.  We will be having an early bird raffle for all tickets purchased by April 5th.

We have some great prizes this year and I will be updating this post with some of them as we confirm but it looks like we will have at least a couple high end firearms!   Great games, great food catered by Riverside Catering (smoked Tri Tip and citrus herbed chicken!) and great fun to be had by all.  We have some great things lined up.

We will be having a women's table with some great prizes including a snazzy little pistol so bring the better half!

Youth are more than welcome as well!  If we sell enough tickets for youth we will have a mini game with a chance at winning a Mathews youth bow!

Tickets can be purchased from me or online (link will be added within the next few days.

We had a great time last year and are looking forward to an even better evening this year so hope to see everyone there!

On another note - We are in serious need of volunteers!  Both for banquet night setting up and running the games and we need help with gathering donations.  Last year we had 3 volunteers and the rest of the banquet was all run by my wife, daughters and my daughters' friends and it was tough!  Any and all help would be much appreciated, everything helps!  If you have kids in school that need community service hours this is a great place to get them!  We don't judge - we will accept help from anyone!!!

Pencil me in to help set up. I am moving and getting the keys to the new place on April 1 so depending on the progress, I could likely come help set up.

A couple of updates:

Our key gun this year will be a Fierce Twisted Rogue - and the winner gets to pick the caliber!  (limited of course to the calibers they make that rifle in).

We will also have a couple of Weatherby rifles where the winners get to pick the caliber as well!

What does a “pick from the silver banner” in regards to a sponsor table entail? Considering rounding up a few friends and going that route.
Thanks

Picture probably isn’t real clear.  Hard to get something quality to post.  This is the current banner.  They do change the board a bit depending on product availability but it’s usually close.  I can send more info via PM or text if anyone wants more information.

Thanks for your support!

Table sponsors also get first crack at dinner and my wife usually puts some snacks on the table to get you through!

Robin,
Do you have a turkey hunting spot for me over there?  I'd really like to come support you guys, but I'm planning on heading to NE to go hunting since it's opening weekend. I could be convinced to stay closer if I knew some place to hunt around there.  :chuckle:
The best friend a guy could have asked for. RIP chasing pheasants in heaven Denali girl.

There are turkeys all over Chelan County as well - I just never have had time to get out for turkeys.  I tell myself every year that I am going to get out and do some turkey hunting and take the wife and kids out (none of them have gotten their first turkey yet).....  I wish I could be of more help!

Wish this didn't always seem to happen on the opening weekend of turkey hunting. Traditional get together hunt for my group-kinda of a kick off spring thing. Suspect it might be for others also.

Picking a weekend is tough.  The venue only had the 19th and the 26th available.  The 19th is turkey and the day before Easter.  The 26th is opening of fishing and Apple Blossom...  Trying to get it setup for earlier but the venue doesn't open for the year until April 1 and there are other groups that have had the first few weekends booked yearly for a long time.  Keep hoping we can get something earlier but its tough to find a venue that can accommodate the size and doesn't cost more than its worth...

Is nothing available in May or June? Even the 26th would be better than that opening weekend of the turkey hunt.  Speaking just for my group of course.

May and June are pretty booked too.  I think this year May 24th was available but May and June are so busy at work I don't have much time.  Plus the RMEF banquet is held during May at the same location so it is tough to get folks at two banquets in the same month....

I really wish there was a venue with the capacity in Feb or March when we are slower at work.  Even April is a little tough for me.
