Antelope next year?
« on: July 20, 2025, 12:52:05 PM »
Quick question for you antelope guys out there. We hunt Montana every year for elk and deer , but now thinking of putting an antelope Hunt together for next year as well. Have not done any research yet , just starting. So Montana or Wyoming? And are both draw only? Better odds? any OTC? Any way to get more than one tag?
TIA
Rob

Ive been going back to Montana every other year for 20 years and its draw only for Antelope. Buy a Bonus point now and then another when you put in for the draw it will help. its not a preferance point like Deer and Elk but it can make a differance

There are way more opportunities in WY, maybe 10x.  That said, we do both.  I had better than even odds in WY this year and didn't draw.  We didn't put in for MT, had probably 1/3 odds and didn't want two tags in two different states as my son wouldn't be able to take both seasons off.

We'll have 100% odds in MT barring a brutal winter and then should have 100% in WY the following year.

If you are looking for trophy units, it's a different ball of wax.

With my very limited speed goat hunting in both states. I'd say WY will be best for you.

Next year maybe Wyoming deer and antelope. I will have 5-6 points. Both my Montana goats were in the mid to high 70’s
