GMU 111 Aladdin Moose Hunt 2025!
« on: September 24, 2025, 02:37:51 PM »
Hey Everyone!

Just wanted to start a thread as we get ready to start my dad's 2025 Aladdin bull moose hunt. Quick recap, we have scouted for almost a week now over the course of a couple weekends. We are going to do another two days of scouting before the season starts on the 1st. Spotted one bull moose and that is the only moose we've seen so far. We have found a small handful of spots with some moose sign with rubs and tracks. Seems like they are in really small pockets. A HUGE thank you to THILL for his help on the area as well as NWBREW. I have a feeling getting one to come in on a call will be the key to this hunt but we'll see.

Please reach out if you are willing to share information on moose for this unit, trying to get my dad a good one!

I will update this thread as the season goes along!

Best of luck, calling moose is a blast!!  Be suuuuper quiet before and during your calling, no talking, shutting doors, ect.  Be patient, two bulls I called in on two different days in the exact same spot took 1 hour exactly to show up.  Bulls antlers are like huge listening devices!

Go kill one so you can come see us during modern deer season. I told your dad I am up for packing if needed.

How’s the hunt going? This weather rolling through this weekend should get the moose moving a bit more and longer in the daylight. Be out there and keep calling. The bull my son shot was locked down on a cow so I don’t think he would have came in but you never know. Don’t be afraid to ask all the deer hunters out there this weekend if they have seen any moose. People are surprisingly happy to help when they know that they will probably never get the tag. We had a Moose Camp sign posted out by the road at our camp, so it pretty much solicited anybody who had any info or just wanted to talk Moose to stop.
