Haven't been in there yet this year but last year the roads that divided the 2 units had bright orange GMU signs at every intersection stating 550 on one side of the road 556 on the other. Wasn't hard to know where you were.

4950 turns into the 240 the 240 turns into the 130 the 130 turns into the 1680 which hits the 1600. Then it turns into the 1400 which turns into the 1420 which turns into the 1426 which turns into the 6400. Hope that helps and yes there is orange signs marking the toutle side!

I was just there this last weekend, and yes in most places it is marked. However, we did find out after the fact that we were in the Toutle for a while on Saturday.
Thankfully we didn't see anything during our brief passthrough. Even though this particular area wasn't clearly posted, it was our responsibility to know where we were, and could have been cited.
On Sat afternoon we stopped in at a Shell station on 504 where Sightly rd and Frank Smith rd meet and got a tree farm map. For $6.99 you can save yourself alot of head aches and know exactly where you are. I have a Coweeman cow tag that runs from Jan.1 to the 15th. I ordered a map from LC Sportsmaps but I didn't get it in time for last weekend. It's a great map and will cost you $15.00 but is well worth it. I have a few of their GMU maps and highly recommend them. We didn't get anything over the weekend, but we learned a few things and talked to some locals who gave us some good tips that I'll use on my cow hunt. Find the highest point you can, and glass the reprod areas below that are too thick and nasty to see in from ground level. The area is saturated with roads, so learn them and use them to your advantage. Good luck to ya Mark

As Funkster described it jumps from road to road to road. I was there last weekend with map in hand and it can get a little difficult to follow, but is marked with signs in most locations.

rudedawg,we will be down there if you need a little help I might be able to point in the right direction. My buddy pulled the multi season elk tag and will be splitting the time between archery and muzzle. If you see a big 4x4 van thats us, stop us and say hi! That should be a really fun tag.
