Thinking of buying a fishing boat...
« on: May 20, 2011, 08:40:32 PM »
So after about 10 years of not even buying a fishing license I am thinking of buying a bass or walleye type boat.  I will go used so am looking for a dealer who has a good selection of used boats.  Last boat I had was Skeeter which I sold in 2001.  Really kicking myself for selling it!

I won't deal with Nixon's Marine out of Walla Walla so I am looking for another dealer who stocks a good selection.

Brown's Landing out of Rainier Or.  Great to deal with!  I have had good luck wth Nixon's.  I bought a used Skeeter that was set up by Nixon's, had a couple of minor issues and they sent me to a Yamaha mechanic over here on the wet side and paid in full for my repairs and the boat had been out of their hands for 3 or more years.  They bent over backwards to help me out.

Yeah, I bought my Skeeter new from Nixon's and they were good to me then.  When I sold it they took it in and sold it for me on consignment and tried to screw me out of some money on the sale price.  Said they sold it for a couple thousand less than they actually did.  Even went as far as sending me fake sales receipts.  I found them out and got my money but swore I wouldn't deal with a business like that again.

I ended up finding a great 1999 Ranger that still looks new.  I should be picking it up next week and am really excited after about 10-11 years out of the game.
