Wolf impacts on predation as per the WDFW Wolf Plan...BS!
« on: June 08, 2011, 03:46:20 PM »
This is the type of information WDFW is putting in the plan that shows you how pro-wolf our state'S WDFW is:

Regarding Yellowstone's Elk herd:
* "bear predation on elk calves...is currently having a larger impact on elk recruitment than wolf predation" (page 97).
*Wolf predation on elk in the park was primarily compesnatory and replaced mortaility that would have been caused by hunting and severe winter weather" (page 96)
*"Several studies have detected little or no effect from wolves on ungulate populations" (page 95)

I'd reccommend you all read at least pages 93-99 of the plan to give yourself an idea of what WDFW studies have shown the effect wolves have on deer/elk. Or should I say at least the information they wanted in the plan to support their view.  Here is the link (http://wdfw.wa.gov/publications/00001/draft_wolf_plan_052311.pdf ).

Personally, I get more discouraged and upset the more I read....urrrgghhhh!!!!!!
Take up your bow, a quiver full of arrows, head out to the country and hunt some wild game.  GEN 27:3
