First Trail Camera Out Today
« on: June 13, 2011, 09:04:29 PM »
I figured i'd stop being lazy and decided to make the drive to Cabelas in Lacey yesterday to purchase my first trail camera.  I got it set up by the corner of a field surrounded by woods where there was an active trail coming into it and the fence around the field had been knocked down and was covered with hair.  Hopefully expecting some elk and deer pictures and found fresh bear tracks near by.  Keeping my fingers crossed and will be out to check it in 2 weeks.

I hope it works out well for you. I'm betting you will have a hard time waiting two weeks. Another guess- it won't be long and you'll find that one trail camera isn't nearly enough. I only really got started with trail cams about 1 1/2 years ago, and I now have six, and even at that I find myself wishing I had twice as many. The only downside is the expense of buying batteries all the time.   :bash:

So which camera did you get?

Added a few of the pictures I have collected from this summer.  The last time I checked it I set it on video mode and I got one short video of a spike.  Also, the only elk I have seen have been bulls and the only deer I have seen have been does.  Any ideas?

I look forward to seeing the pics from those. I am running 10 right now..and I still don't have enough up apparently because I haven't found a lot of big bucks.
