It started with tree cam problems that cost me two months of scouting. Once I got it figured out I've gotten nothing but does and horses on cam. Three of the four days I made it out it was 90+ degrees. Went today and nothing was moving. I had to head out a little earlier than planned and what do i see in a field i was shotdown for access to? 3 bucks... one decent 3 point and two legit wall hangers. That was a nice kick in the balls. I go a mile further and what do I see? 8 elk... One of which was a monster bull. That was pretty cool. I've been hunting property 4 or so miles from there for 5 years and have never seen any sign of elk. So other than the elk sighting the early season was forgetable for me. Here's to hoping for a good late hunt.
