Just announced that he passed away today, huge loss for corporate America.
The things that come to those who wait, may be the things left by those who got there first!

Who is Steve Jobs?

Founder of Apple, Pixar, etc. The brains, some would say, behind the Ipod, Iphone, Ipad, etc.

:fire.:

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

Sad deal. This guy has helped change the tech world. When everyone thought his ideas were so crazy he never changed his vision.

As much as I dislike Apple, I sure do respect the guy for all of his innovation over the years.  56 was far far far too early

he never changed his vision.

He had vision beyond most people's comprehension.

You are typing on a window and your see icons on your computer.  Job's invented all those.  When the easy to use operating system took off Bill Gates ripped off the same idea.  WHen you had cascading window...  Gates ripped off the idea.

The iphone... Look at the followers?  Windows 7 Phone heck it took a page right out of the iphone.

Sad to see him pass.. He / Apple have truly invented some of the most technologically advanced products on the market!  I don't know what I'd do without my iPhone?

I am no fan of Apple products due to their closed/proprietary systems, but I am sad to see Jobs die.

No sh!t He turned my life from fun in the saddle to what the heck is this guy up to now! Finding myself in the black hole to technology. I think I hate the guy.  :chuckle:

Not really. Just got me away from the farms and ranches. My saddle turned into a freaken swivel chair at a desk and this little gadget called a MOUSE.

Now I"m fat old and dumpy.

Yeah................ I do tip my hat to him. His passing leaves a real big void now. At least for me. It has been a good ride.   :'(

Steve Jobs was a leader with vision who did great things BUT let us not forget about those who made the ultimate sacrifice...like PVT Chen or 1st Sgt Siercks or PO1 Nelsen or.... Without their sacrifice and those before them Steve wouldn't have been able to do the things he did.
What's the most dangerous thing said in the US Navy? -- A Chief Petty Officer saying "Watch this s$%^!!"

"I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction: 'I served in the United States Navy.'"

Nope, not even close. This is a common myth

The first GUI (Graphical User Interface) was PARC, developed by Xerox  20  years before Mac or Windows existed. All three Mac, Windows, and Unix took their idea and ran with it.

As good as a visionary/business man Jobs was, he did not invent any of those items, the engineers at Apple did.
