Yes they were wild.

You sir, have something that I envy. I am closing in on some killer spots around your neck of the woods. Last time I saw around 10 roosters, but most were out of range.

I got Jaeger back out this weekend and was able to introduce my 7 week old puppy Trax to some pheasants 

How much do pure bred GSP's run? I may buy one in 12 years or so when my dog runs out of life and my future wife begs me enough to get one.

Ellensburg, good GSP usually run around $700 give or take. I want my dogs to be great foot hunters and family dogs. I also prefer larger dogs. With GSP you have to do your homework. Its not to say that you can't have a great dog regardless of its pedigree, but IMO your odds are much better if you get a dog from a lineage similar to how you want your dog to turn out. If you get serious about getting a pup let me know and I will be happy to do what I can to help you out.

I'm loving my springer too much to consider one right now. Thats why I said maybe in 12 years. My girlfriend just really wants it to be our next dog (if married), and she wants me to hunt it. I was just wondering how much they run. 700 isn't bad. Springers are usually around 500. I got mine from good lines for 350 and couldn't be more pleased. Lucky I guess.

I also like bigger hunting dogs although mine is quite a bit smaller than my last.

Man thats awesome ...have not stacked roosters like that since I left Pennsylvania ....I sure miss hunting wild birds ...are those wild birds ?

As far as picking a GSP, I agree do your homework. One tip I would give(as I paid the price) is to avoid field champion dogs. Now I know many will say that is wrong, but you really have to be careful because many of those dogs are bred to field trials dogs. Not family dogs, not friendly dogs, etc. I have a 18 month old I found from a private guy. Good lineage and she is a great hunter plus good with the family and people, etc. Which is a must!
