Whidbey/NASWI Help
« on: December 18, 2011, 12:51:26 PM »
I was jus wondering if any of you Whidbey guys would be willing to let a newby tag a long?  I live here on the island and I've been wanting to get into waterfowling (my 10 year old son really wants to also).  I feel like I should get a grip on it before I get him out there though.  I've hunted my whole life for deer, turkey, upland birds and other small game, but never waterfowl.  I would love to just tag a long a couple times to see how it works.  I'm not trying to step in on anybody's hunting or anything.  I'd be willing to just sit and watch.  My son is really wanting to get more into other types of hunting, which is great because he takes after his mom, and I thought he would never really care too much for any of it.  He's been able to get a deer the last 2 years and he loves it.  So I want to keep him involved.  I live on the Sea Plane base and always see the guys hunting by the back gate.  I really don't know where to start with this so any help would be greatly appreciated.  I know I need to get into the regs and make sense of all that.  My question is more of what other gear I need to get started (ie: decoys, calls, waders, etc.)  and it would be nice to see someone in action who has some experience.  Hopefully I don't sound like too much of an idiot :chuckle:  Thanks.

That would be great.  I didn't receive a PM though.  dannysdaddy has offered to take me out (much appreciated by the way) and I'd like to get out there with some others also.  I'll send you a PM with my info.  Thanks.
