That snake was so cold it just kinda wrapped itself around my hand like it was a hot rock or something. Pretty funny, it seemed in no hurry at all to be put down!

I saw the discussion about cubs. My wife shot this cub when I was out of state since I wouldn't let her shoot one when I was around. I have to admit it's one of the neatest mounts in the house.

Ok let's try this again. Either it's my computer or the site but my last 3 post didn't come through. I hunted a couple of times last week briefly before work and this chewed up old log was the only thing I found. The log is about 10 inches in diameter. Do you think it was a bear or some other critter? I also saw this tree with a little nibble on it. I have heard that the bears will sample the tree's for sugar content early on so what do you guy's think?
 
I didn't hunt over the weekend because the family needed a little get away. We went down to Longview and sturgeon fished on the Columbia. We caught a few undersized fish, but no keepers. It was a fun little trip and I hope to get back down soon. I'll post a couple of pic's of our smallest sturgeon ever, barely 20 inches and a 35 incher. I have to add another in my Huntahaulics hoody, gotta give the guy's some support.

Yep, both are bear.  Yes the bears peel the bark off the base of the trees to get to the cambium layer(sugar) which kills the trees and is the reason why you have a spring bear tag, to help the tree farms save some trees!

Burrrr, I just got in from  3 hour hunt in the driving rain.  I did see 3 deer today on my way in, so that got my spirits up. The only bear sign I saw was Iabout the most chewed up log  that I've ever seen, but in the driving rain I wasn't about to take out the cell phone for a pic! I had a spot that I've been wanting to walk for a while, but the wind is always bad. Today I got out early and walked in with the wind at my back. I then took a seat on a stump for about 45 minutes and started working my way back to my truck. I still hunted all the way back with the wind and rain in my face. It took about 2 hours to get back, and I got there right at dark. It seemed like the most perfect hunt ever to me but the bears didn't think so. I'm off to the hot tub now to get warmed up and I'll be back to it on Sunday. It's going to happen soon, I just know it. This is the first time I've been able to devote so much time hunting, and I'm loving it. Good luck to the rest of you.

What do you drive ripper?   I was out yesterday with another member and ran into a parked pickup so we turned around.   We didn't want to drive by him and spoil his hunt.
