New Mexico Elk 16B Gila Wilderness

Well the stars alligned and our group drew two 16B tags (myself being one tag). Sept. 19th-24th. If anyone has any knowledge or advice on the unit I would love to hear it. We are planning scouting trips and being down a week before the hunt. Have a couple of friends down there that will help with scouting also, but just wanted to hear any knowledge willing to be shared. Post, Pm, email, or phone. Any help will be much appreciated! Super excited for the hunt, it will be a tuff diy wilderness hunt. With hard work should be the potential for a nice bull. Kinda wish New Mexico would have held out for a couple months with results cause I'm already not sleeping now, restless tag syndrome..... Thanks in advance for any insight!

There's a ton of info out there on the 16's.  I'd be pounding the internet search engines every night.  Nice thing is, you have several months to prepare.  Good luck!
