Man I would love some info on this fishery! I have never fished it before... Any info for a newbie out on the Skagit?

The only info I have was out of the news paper. Fishing is ok. So far it looks like the bank anglers plunking with small pink spin and glo's are out fishing the boat guy's. Sounds a lot like fishing for pinks. Tip your hook with a piece of sand shrimp. Look for jumpers and fish in front of them. Good luck, I hope to get out there someday.
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not!

Boy Im thinking about going early next week! I heard that people are catching using standard drift gear, of course in pink with shrimp or shrimp scent. Plunkers are catching, as well as a few being caught off floats and jigs. Im just going down prepared for whatever! Anyone know of good bank access starting points? Not asking for any choice holes, just community spots to start at.

I would love to know some good spots and what to use.  I really do not know much about fishing in the area so I am learning on the fly. Any advice is appreciated.

I think today is the only day we did not catch sheet .....Indians must of slowed it down just a little ... plus it is pouring rain and I decided the coffee pot sounded much better  :chuckle: Yes if I was you I would try going during the week or if not then try to find a tunnel in the bushes and work toward the river ...thats what I do to get away from people ..... little work and you can catch fish and have a great time !

Looks like you are plunking?
The things that come to those who wait, may be the things left by those who got there first!

I know some of you may consider this a stupid question but what is plunking?

If you show up at that time on the weekends, your going to be a spectator.
