Just go find some other pots and set on top of them. :chuckle:

Why set on top of them?  Just find some other pots and pull them. :chuckle:
i like your thinking.   In my experiences i have learned its always better to pull the commercial pots.

What a nice boat ride this evening. Like being on a big pond. I ran two pots, just me. Pulled 5 pots total to get my limit. All nice solid keepers with not a soft one in the bunch. I'll be back out in the morning to say hello to Skillet. Here are a few pics from the phone....

Just finished a batch of crab cakes from those. Gonna fry up a test one here in a few minutes. Went out again this morning. The two pots that soaked over night gave up six keepers. It was me and the bro in law so all six went right into the cooler. We rebaited and set back in the same area. A little bit nasty out there but with 6 down we figured we could limit without to much trouble. Didn't take long for Skillet to show up and man are his pots on fire. He pulled a near limit on his first check. We put one more in the box to make it seven. We chatted a bit and he was doing the sorting and upgrading. I pulled two pots and had two more bringing me to nine.....and what do you know.....Skillet has a freebie from the pot he is sorting. We pulled up, extended the ol net and that makes a limit. Spent the next little bit pulling and clearning my last pots and back to the dock. Forget all the bad stuff I said about him.....that Skillet is a decent fella.

Went out this weekend and was a bit disapointed  :'(

Yesterday, we took 4 dungees and 5 rock crab.
This morning we got 6 dungees and 1 rock crab on an over night soak..... and it was with 6 pots  :bash:
(3 guys, 2 pots apiece)

Bought 2 new crab bait cannisters from the boat house yesterday, filled them with bear meat scraps and the rock crabs had such big claws, they ripped open the metal  :yike: Never see that before, and they were some big rock crabs

Those rocks have some crazy strong claws. I watched one clamp onto the pier railing (he was being measured) and he clamped so hard it looked like someone took a pair of pliers to the wood  :yike: Those guys are tough!

We had decent weekend we dropped saturday afternoon, and pulled 4 after about a 3 hour soak.  We rebaited, and left them overnight we went out this morning we got 5 legals out of the first pot them 5 more between the other three.  Overall much slower than last year, but we are getting some giants.  We talked to a neigbor who pulled a nine incher out last sunday I can honestly say that I have never seen one that big, but I guess they are out there.

That cake on the upper left looks like a crab that came out of one of my pots...

Great crabbing this weekend.  Which is good, because I've paid my idiot tax in advance by losing two pots already this year.  One of my remaining pots got tangled up with an old derelict that I think I can rehab, so I'm only down one pot and two bouys.  The derelict did not have the rot cord in it - it was wired shut.  Well, that's just not cool.  Pots like those just keep catching and killing crab for a loooong time.  If you think I found your old pot and are willing to take a lecture off of me about rot cord, feel free to contact me.  Aside from the wired up escape hatch, there is a pretty distinctive feature about it.  Tell me what that is and where I found it and I'll give it back - with rot cord installed.

Threw the pots out on Friday night in two new-to-me areas out of Everett after having some pretty bad fishing last weekend.  Picked up on Saturday morning.  Not too shabby.  First couple of 7+'ers of the year.

I do like to pre-marinate my crab-

Before noon on a good crabbing day - you know how we do!  Last boil was done at 11:15 am.  It was noon somewhere...

Good seeing you out there again H20.  I propose we have a "Crabbage tournament" soon - pots dropped at the same time, then we raft up the boats and play some cribbage games, and then pick the pots.  We'll figure out a way to combine cribbage scores with what comes up on the soak...

I'm up for some crabbage.....however, with your luck lately may not be much of a challenge. Nice looking feast you have going on there.

Have you guys crabbed Port Gamble?  In the past it has produced some really good sized crab.  If you are fishing mid channel, the crab spot is pretty obvious.
