What salt to water ratio do you guys use for guts in cookin?

1st Trip this year tommorow morning.  Got walleye carks in the bait boxes and one has a bloody catfish cark from Moses going 70 feet deep out of Shilshole.

Never tried Moses carks for crab.

I personally pull my crabs out of the salt they go right into a pot of boiling fresh water they taste great.  I have taken the guts out before cooking, but I think it takes away some of the flavor.  I would go grab a couple whole chickens they are on sale at safeway for 88 cents a pound at the moment, chicken for us has by far been the best bait.  We do mix in fish occasionally, and I have been using some hog fat for scent just make sure your stuff is fresh I notice a big difference if my bait goes bad.

I use a heavy hand with the salt.  Be generous, the water should taste like seawater once the salt dissolves.

I too salt the water. Also....on the bait topic I picked up a few whole makeral and chopped 'em up. Seemed to be very oily and may have helped. Also...agreed on the chicken.

Winco has 10 lb frozen packs of thigh and leg quarters for 78 cents a pound.  That's their regular price too.
Look man, some times you just gotta roll the dice

Walleye and Catfish carks work. Even threw in half dozen Koke Heads.  Koke heads?  That buddy is gone.................. Got 4 nice dungies with 2 traps.  Socked in with fog - couldn't go but 150 yards off shore.  Trolled Shilshole bay for 20 minutes and found downrigger must have blown a fuse (hopefully).  Yep that  bay is closed, but what are you going to do for 3 hours socked in with fog watching the shore constantly.  FISH

I only boil for 10 minutes.  Rolling boil, drop 'em in, eat in 10.

Can anyone give me an area 9 crab report? Also.....any silvers still being caught. I'd like to go out this weekend and go for both but haven't crabbed much further out than Mukilteo.

Thanks.

I only crab in 9 and it has been very good.  Same as last year.  Where abouts were you thinking about dropping the pots?

I always cook crab in seawater.  Fill the live well and just drain it into the cook pot.  I find fish to be the best bait for me.
