bear hunting
« on: July 11, 2012, 01:31:26 AM »
hey there. i have hunted for about 8 years years now and went with my dad since i was about 7 or 8. ive done pretty good with deer, coyotes, grouse and stuff but i would love to get my hands on a bear! i was just curious if there was anyone out there that would either be willing to point me in the right direction or even help me get one under my belt. i would be willing to pay or barter. i usually hunt the following units 652, 654, 667, 505, 510, 503, 516, 520

feel free to shoot me a PM

thanks, joe

Royboy- sorry to see no one replied to your post. I'll go out with you anytime. There are alot of great people on this this site I'm sure. I've had the pleasure of hunting with a few but sadly even though we are all fellow outdoorsman with much in common, it is still difficult to be accepted into most of these groups. Keep your head up and keep posting. I'm sure more offers will come your way.

Royboy , you're not alone ......every time I go by myself I'm thinking ...maybe it should be wise to have someone go with ,but like Grizzlyadams says
..... sadly even though we are all fellow outdoorsman with much in common, it is still difficult to be accepted into most of these groups.
that goes double for me  :chuckle: .Being a foreigner could drive some people off ,altough the people I have met through this site accept me (I think ).So keep on it ,you're more than welcome to join me on scouting trip ,which could turn into bear hunting trip .....
Everyone thinks that I'm freak ,I don't look different do I ?

The offer is good for you too Cap.Silver. I usually hunt alone to keep the noise down, but I sure enjoy going with someone else as well. Doesn't matter who they are or where they are from. As long as you're safe, ethical and legal I'll hunt with anyone. Have to admit, there are many times I've been in a hair raising situation I've thought to myself....why am I out here alone... :chuckle: All a guy has to do is message me and let me know when you want to go. Hunting is my priority this time of year and if I have the day off, I'm there!

Thanks swanny... They closed my spot from last year. Its posted like crazy due to active logging. Pretty bummed about it. With so much activity last year, It was going to be a no brainer this year I thought. I went up scouting a different spot. Saw 2 very repectable sized bears so it seemed anyway. would have been a mile and a half hike through what would be unfamiliar territory for me and I was alone so I bagged it. I would have gone by myself but my gps is on the fritz and my cell phone is ready for the garbage (holding out for the new iphone). Could have used you then. You ever want to go and have some time off just let me know. I'm all in!

Hey Grizz!!! I heard about your honey hole being shut down this year and supposedly, they're enforcing it heavily. Too bad, I was hoping to see a pic of you and that bruiser

Ya KC......its disappointing. Guess it just wasn't meant to be. I don't understand why they would shut down the whole area. Thats a huge amount of land with a ton of game in it. They can't be logging all of it. It has plenty of roads with closed gates to go in behind. I'm going to call and see if there is anyway to get special permission to get in there like if I have a CB and monitor the logging truck activities, or only go in on certain days. There has to be a way. Going to look into it some more. How did you hear about the heavy enforcement? Did you talk to them?

I'm willing and able. I've spent some time in 652/654. My problem is gettin time off of work. I'm tryin to go look for a bear this weekend. Not sure Saturday or Sunday yet. The good part about those units, this time of year....if the huntin is no good, there's plenty of rivers near by with salmon runnin!
Its the goin'.....Not the gettin'
