All wilderness no roads, hire an outfitter and do the drop camp thing. Get in shape, its really rugged country. There is no easy hunting. Good luck.

I SHOULD ALSO MENTION I HAVE HORSES AND HAVE "GOOGLE EARTHED" THE UNIT.  IT DOES LOOK LIKE STEEP COUNRY BUT FUN TO HUNT.  BELIEVE ME I WILL BE IN SHAPE FOR THIS, MANY YEARS OF CHUCKER HUNTING HAVE KEPT ME CROSS COUNTRY WORTHY.

Sounds like you have it made, now load up the string and do some scouting before hunting season starts. Its the only way you will learn the area.

Very rugged country, lots of good bulls.  Just about have to have some horses to get in and out with a bull.  Not saying it couldn't be done without them, but it's be a helluva chore.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.

I was wanting that tag also but in an archery variety.  I've never been in that area, but I've looked across at the area of Moore Flats and Smooth Ridge from the Three Forks trailhead above Troy, OR.  That was where I was going to start after checking it out on Google Earth.  There are a couple ponds on the flat that I had planned on getting to; one of them is basically right on the state line.  I thought such an inviting ridge would have other hunters, for sure, but it's a long way from the road, so it's hard to tell until you get out there.  Good luck with that hunt!
Bring a GPS!  It's awkward to have to eat your buddies!

Moore flat and camp on the Oregon side of the line. Then hunt up in the morning and downhill back to camp in the evening. That's my plan when I draw.

You can go in at saddle butte and hunt in or hunt up from Oregon up through 1st and 2nd creek area.  The Grouse Flasts Rd is a good rd to scout from.
Wild Turkey, Walleyes, Whitetails and Wapiti..These are a few of my favorite things!!
