Hey CP....putting in at Everett tomorrow morning. Any suggestion on which side of the bar to fish for a bit while the pots soak? I figure to run a spoon or hoochie or maybe an ace hi fly for a few hours. Depth? In the mud or up in the water column?

Hey H2O, I'll be out tomorrow with FC and my family. There is a high tide at 6:30 I believe. I'll be launching at 5 hopefully and heading over to the outer bar, SE side and trolling 10' off the bottom in 100-140' of water. I've been doing well with a green/white flasher, 50" of 30# test to an Army truck Coyote spoon. Both 4 and 5 inch models have been working. Good luck and gimme a call while you're out there if you have any luck. I'll do the same if I get into fish.

High tide at 6:20am - I'd be rigging up the first line by flashlight and fishing the East side from the buoy to the area 8-2 line by Poss pt.    Start at 40' down and drop 10 feet every 30 minutes.

Good luck!

Do you guys think that jigging/mooching with a buzz bomb or herring be a reasonable thing to try?  I don't have downriggers and I don't think I can troll slow enough so I'd like to try jigging.  Do you think that I would have a reasonable chance at catching using this technique?

That's the only way I fish for salmon in the salt. It's not for eveybody but once skilled you can do just as well as trolling if not better. Saves on fuel too  :twocents:

Did alright today, fished pilot point and point no point. Ended up with two small coho and 9 dungeness to end the morning. Pics tomorrow when I pull the boat out. We had one wild king on to the boat and he broke it off right before I got the cookies and cream spoon out of his mouth. Good day over all

The North end of area 9 was real good earlier in the week. Yesterday I lost one fish about 15 at the boat to a furbag, he took my only jig that was producing the best  :bash:. We did get some really nice fish earlier all mooching and jigging. A couple around 20 and one in the mid to high 20s. All hatchery. The 29 Dungies didn't hurt either. I'll try to get some pictures up later. Going back Thursday.
